This is a small gem of a place that many locals visit as well as folks that travel just to eat here! It was our first time at Jake’s and will not be the last by any means. I will stop here and have great, well prepared BBQ style food over fast food any day and at around the same price or maybe less! The outside does not look impressive at all but please don’t be fooled, try it out! The inside was very basic as far as appearance with older furnishings and rather rough looking in regards to the paint, maintenance etc. Now, to the awesome part, the food! They have a basic menu of chicken, pork, ham, beef and turkey sandwiches in addition to half or full rack of ribs. They also have a rather large fixings area for the condiments with mayo, horseradish, ketchup, mustard, hot mustard, onion, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, pickles and jalapeños. They serve two sides, Mac and cheese or coleslaw! We had the ham sandwich and the pit beef sandwich and both were phenomenal! Mac and cheese was pretty good too. They also have chips and bottled drinks available. All of the meats are smoked on premises and are cooked perfectly in my opinion. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was that of a favorite hang out!

This is a very no-nonsense old school pit beef place with a limited menu. Haven't had pit beef that good since Bull on the Beach was in their prime at White Marsh Mall in the 80s. The guys working the kitchen are efficient and know their craft...and they're softies, handing out carnations to strange women in their shop. :) Thanks for a great meal, see y'all again soon!

Hole in the wall roadside stop with a couple tables in functional plain indoors, dim fluorescent light and the best pit beef, turkey and smoky barbecue ribs in the Baltimore area cooking on giant smoky grills outside. Full of taste, unlike questionable pit beef places that get media attention. Crew is fast, nice, no-BS. Clientele is mostly hard-working guys on the run. Maryland Photographer approved. Update 9/24: prices up a bit due to costs, but quality and taste still great and way better than places that try to get on tv.

Loved it. Hospitality was on point. I'll be back. The turkey pit was delicious.

Jake's is great! If you're looking for great pit beef or turkey, this is the place to go! The food is delicious and the guys are great too. They even hand out flowers to the ladies. 10/10 recommend!

I've been here before, but I had to upgrade my review. The staff is so inviting. And they are knowledgeable about their products. I was talking with the person who was grilling the food and cutting the ribs. And he was so helpful. As a barbecue guy, this is the first time I've ever had smoke. Ribs that were not mushy and they had a lot of flavor. More importantly they were not dry. If you are a diabetic you can get them without the sauce.

So I ended up here on a whim and found a Gem. I was pleased to have discovered the very best pit turkey sandwich that I have ever eaten. Hands Down!. I could write for days about the Atmosphere: the speedy Service, or the oversized helpings. All of that might take away from communicating that Jake's Grill is the best Damn pit beef place I have ever eaten at.

One of Baltimore County’s hidden gems. Seriously good pit meats served without frills in an old service station on Falls Rd. No, I take that back, they always hand a flower to the ladies, which is very sweet and definitely a frill. Their sandwiches are huge. Tasty. Great quality. I’ve never been disappointed with their ham, turkey and roast beef. The sandwiches are meaty enough that a half will satisfy if you split it with a friend. My husband and I took an order of ribs home with us last week when we were there. Orders can be for carry out, or for consuming at simple picnic tables set under shade trees at the edge of a creek. Parking at peak lunch hours can be a little dicey, with lots of vehicles jockeying for limited spaces. Because it’s that good.
